We used 3 microphones to capture the
whooshing sound of movement.
And by combining
them with the 6-axis sensor we made it possible
seamlessly express fine and varied movements
in diverse audio tones.

The beginning of the MOTION SONIC PROJECT. Sketched ideas for main features: how to capture wind with microphones and affix them to the arms.

While verifying with actual dance moves, we considered flat button placement that doesn't interfere with the performance, as well as a belt design that fits the body.

Through repeated experimentation, we considered internal board layouts to decide where and at what angle to place the microphones in the unit layout.

We shaped and cut a knurled texture into the microphone cap to maximize the surface area coming into contact with the wind. We also calculated efficient wind intake.
